The Charlie Method ARC Review

The Charlie Method by Elle Kennedy (Campus Diaries #3)

I’m going to start out by saying that Elle will always be one of my top authors. If she puts it out… I’m going to read it. The depth she puts into her characters & the stories is so good. I always love how detailed she is with her books. GIVE ME ALL THE DETAILS. I don’t care if the book is 500+ — that is fine with me because I know they are giving me all the details & building a great story.. not just fluff!

Blurb:

College senior Charlotte Kingston is living two lives―and she’s nailing both of them. By day, she’s the perfect sorority girl, a STEM student in biomedical engineering, and the adopted daughter of an overachiever family. At night, she’s Charlie: a risk-taking daredevil looking for fun who finds herself chatting on a dating app with two anonymous hotties.

Will Larsen may seem like the breezy boy next door, but his congressman father is a constant thorn in his side. After a scandal hits another Division 1 hockey program, Will’s dad is determined to distance his son from it, hiring a journalist to prove how squeaky-clean Will and his team are. Which means the last thing Will wants is for anyone to find out he and his best friend Beckett Dunne―a laidback Aussie shielding secret heartache―sometimes share girls in the bedroom.

When Charlie finally meets them in person and realizes she’s been chatting with two gorgeous Briar U hockey players, things get steamy―fast. But all their messy secrets are piling up, and real life soon threatens to shatter the fantasy. With Charlie, Will, and Beckett all coming to terms with what they want and what others want for them, difficult decisions will need to be made.

Especially when lust starts to look a lot like love.

Okay.. Let’s get into it! This was my first ever “why choose” & honestly didn’t know what to expect because that’s not something I personally would ever do but you do you! I thought Elle did this so well… I was expecting so many different scenarios in my head (things that could go wrong) but it never did. It kept me interested until the very last page.

I loved Will & Beckett from “The Graham Effect” & “The Dixon Rule”. So I was so excited to get their story.. to get to know them better & this book made me love them so much more. They are so different & I love their friendship so, so much. We still get the banter from them & the other hockey boys which is a must in these books! There is a “Dad Chat” & it had me LOLing while reading it— one of my favorite parts of the book!

Let’s talk about Charlie/Charlotte— she might be one of my favorite FMC. She is trying to live this perfect life because of the pressure she puts on herself but seeing her Charlie side come out is the best. I love how she is with the boys, I love watching her grow as a person, & I love when she finds her voice. It was really touch & go with her going back & forth in her mind to be with the boys or not.. & honestly I couldn’t blame her hesitation— I would have been the exact same. The world is so judgey sometimes (me included). This book opened my eyes.

I wasn’t sure how everything was going to end up but I’m honestly so pleased with how Elle ended things in this series. She had a vision for these boys & she delivered. If you are hesitant of reading because of the main trope… I promise its done really well, the spicy scenes were great (even if you aren’t into that) & there is SO much more than just that trope with this book! It’s 3 POV’s & Elle just did such a good job!

Thank you @getredprbooks for the ARC & make sure you run & grab this book when it comes out on February 25th! In the meantime— read The Graham Effect & The Dixon Rule to get caught up!

As always follow me on IG & GoodReads to see what I’m reading!
