If you’re new here this is where I give my small review of the books I read each month. I have a pretty big goal this year & I’m already behind haha! Being honest though January was a lot busier than I was anticipating but honestly in the best way! So I’ll be catching up a bunch these next couple weeks! I rate books 1-5 stars. 5 being the top.
Lets get into it..
- The Path to Loving Him by Meghan Quinn — I got this as an ARC so I reviewed it on my website already! Here’s the link to that https://daniellepaschka.com/2025/01/07/the-path-to-loving-him-arc/ but in true Meghan fashion for me — 5 stars.
- The Proposal Play by Lauren Blakely — Another ARC so I reviewed it on my website already here! Here’s the link to that https://daniellepaschka.com/2025/01/12/the-proposal-play-arc-review/ I loved being back in the love & hockey world! It was 4 stars for me.
- All The Missing Pieces by Catherine Cowles —This is my first Catherine book & it won’t be my last! I loved the suspense, the twists, the turns, and the love story that blossomed. Colt the MMC is so grumpy and I love a grumpy MMC. Ridley was sassy, bold & didn’t take shit from anyone which I loved so much. I thought the entire story was really good & I kept wanting to keep reading! I love true crime podcasts & Ridley is a host of one.. I loved her story & her why! I really hoping we can go back to this town for a book 2?! If not I’m going to start another one of her series stat! 4 stars.
- The Broken Places by Mia Sheridan — This was an interesting one.
Start out by saying I really do love Mia books— I honestly never know what I’m gonna get! This one was kind of wild for me lol. Some parts seemed almost not believable but maybe I just don’t know what is happening in the drug crime scene world?! I felt there wasn’t enough chemistry in the 2 mains & the outline of the book kind of got confusing. All that said.. It kept me coming back for more & it kept me on my toes. Definitely check your trigger warnings before you read. 3.5 stars. - The Wedding People by Alison Espach — This was a book I kept hearing about all last year I felt like & was on every list for a best book of the year. All that said.. I thought it fell kind of flat for all the raves I heard. Maybe I was expecting too much?! I’m not sure. I did enjoy it & it wasn’t like a book I’ve read before.. obviously the beginning was depressing which expected with what the book is about. The characters in the book were all very interesting. There was definitely some LOL parts for me. “High bun” & “Neck pillow” — that could have easily been my favorite part. There was some times in the book where the storyline was just kind of left hanging.. I don’t know! I’d love to hear more thoughts from people! 3 stars.
Ready to get my butt back in gear with my reading this month and get a good amount of books in! I’ve slumped back into scrolling more but need to knock it off & read more again! Truly the best escape there is! Happy reading friends & as always follow me on IG or GoodReads for what I’m always currently reading!
Xo, Dani
