The Longshot by Kate Lauren (Crawfield Football Club Book Two)
Tropes- Small Town Romance, Opposites Attract, “Who did this to you?”, Found Family.
I loved being back in Crawfield! It’s always fun returning back to a series after a little bit!
This is Wilk’s story. He is the captain of the Crawfield Football Club — I was always wanting his book to come because I loved him in book 1 & how fun he was. I loved getting to know him & see his sweet family dynamic! He is from a big family with the most loving & in love family that I loved seeing that side of his story!
The story follows Chelsie who is a student taking a break from school & getting away from her really awful ex. She leaves after a horrible night & goes to Crawfield with her sister. Her sister owns a bakery & she ends up helping out there.
I absolutely loved Chelsie & Gary (I’ll be calling him Gary instead of Wilks 🤣— because I love that Chelsie called him that from the get go!) I loved their “meet-cute” & how smitten kitten he was with her! Being a cake decorator I loved the bakery 🥹🥹🥹
The fact that he was so patient with her from the beginning just made me swoon. The 5 days of tasks for her! UGH I love when a “player” changes his way for a girl.
How the story started really tugged at my heart for Chelsie & I loved getting her story first. Kate does such a good job at pulling at your heartstrings & making you feel cozy.
I can’t wait for the next book!
