As some of you know I started my reading journey in August 2022 & my reading journey went wild. I read 108 books this year & I can honestly say it doesn’t feel like enough! There are so many more I want to read & my TBR forever grows every day! Ahh— the escape books gives me is one of my absolute favorite things. I truly love it so much! My goal was 75 books this past year & my goal this year is 100 books.
Here are some of my absolute favorites I read this year:
- Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas — The amount of times I still think about this book is A LOT. The romance, the spice, the writing, the heartbreak, just EVERYTHING. Honestly will never be over this book.
- Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica — my mind was blown with this one! The suspense, the unknown, all the twists and turns. Such a wild one & it’s one I wish I could read for the first time again!
- Love & Other Words by Christina Lauren — I saw this one all over the internet & was so excited to read it! This. Book. It pulled on my heart strings SO much. The story was so, so good. Devastating. Everything. A must read for everyone.
- Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan– One of the first books I cried a lot at. Devastating but so romantic. The story was a unique one that I’ve definitely thought about since reading it. I love Mia Sheridan’s writing style.
- The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez — Honestly all Abby books make me so happy & I love everything she writes but this one was definitely my favorite of hers. When you love the characters so much, it just makes it hard not absolutely fall in love with these books & that’s what happened with this one!
- Reckless by Elsie Silver– To be honest the entire Chestnut Springs series by her is my favorite but this one was my absolute favorite! I loved Theo SO much & Winter is one of my favorite FMC — she was so strong & the entire book (well series) is chefs kiss!
- The Way I Hate Him by Meghan Quinn— OMG this one. The spice, the enemies to lovers, just all of it! The entire family dynamic was so good. Meghan’s books not only give the best spice but it’s also isn’t unlikely that I’m laughing out loud. So excited for more from this series in 2024!
- Things We Left Behind by Lucy Score— I’ve read a lot of Lucy books but this one was my fave from the series this one was apart of. I loved the angst & heartbreak from Sloane & Lucian. I loved their stories. It was just so good in my opinion. I loved that this book in the series was the most believable to real life than the other 2! Can’t wait to see what’s next for Lucy in 2024.
- The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros— When I say I’ll never be the same after this book.. I mean it. I was full on sobbing reading this.. I don’t even have words for how heartbreaking, beautiful & everything in between this book is. The writing, the details, every single thing. I’ll never recover.
- The Graham Effect by Elle Kennedy— I read a lottttt by Elle this year & she just hits different. Her writing is some of my fave & this one just was an absolute favorite. It was funny, spicy, so freaking sweet & so much more. I can’t even explain how good it was because I don’t think I’ll do it justice. A must read author for me.
- Worth the Hurt by Ashley Dranguet— Holy smokes. I was sweatinggggg reading this. I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve read a book like this before. It was so good, so real, & made me feel a lot of things. I was blown away that this was Ashley’s debut novel because WOW. I honestly cannot wait for more from her.
- He’s Not My Type by Meghan Quinn— If this isn’t your sign to read a MQ book.. Stick around I’ll convince you at some point because I’ll never not be in love with her books! HOLY HANNAH — this book was anything & everything. It’s part of a series but this was just the best one yet. I was LOL’ing the entire book, like couldn’t stop. All the feels, chills, everything!
Whew, I honestly probably could have added a few more but I just can’t say enough how much reading has made me fall in love so much with something I never thought I would like. I can’t wait to read all the things in 2024 & keep this journey going! Happy reading friends & follow me on Goodreads to always see what I’m reading!
