Books I Read in January

First month of the new year done & it was a start of a new year of reading! I got 8 read this month & I’m really happy with that! I had 2 ARCs this month too which is always wonderful & I feel so thankful that I get to do that! So this is where I rate the book 1-5 stars.. 5 being the best and 1 being not the best.

Let’s get into it…

  1. The Fix by Mia Sheridan — Honestly Mia Sheridan never misses! I would say this was suspense with a touch of romance which she always does a good job with this. Her books always seem so raw & real which is what I always love because sometimes that’s what I want.. I don’t want just mushy lala romance — give me that real and raw stuff. So many of her books are on the darker side — like just real, things that for sure could & do happen in real life! Add it to your TBR. 4.5 stars.
  2. Bluebird Gold by Devney Perry — Devney is forever my go to for Romantic Suspense books! This is a start to a new series, set in the 80s & it checked all the boxes for me! There wasn’t anything I’d add or take out— it was so good! I can’t wait for me to come in the series, hopefully another one this year! 5 stars.
  3. &4. Making my way through the The Improbable Meet-Cute Series that are 6 short stories which are fun for Valentine’s Day honestly are cute, sweet, quick stories so they are honestly great to listen to while on a walk or doing chores around the house or if you are driving in the car! I read Accidently Yours by Christina Lauren & Time Will Tell by Hannah BonamYoung — both were cuties & would honestly make great full length books! 3 stars.
  4. No One Knew by Kendra Eliot — This was book 2 in a series. I read the first book last year AND LOVED IT. This one was good, not as good as the first book but it kept my attention. If you like fast paced suspense, these books are for you! Trying to figure out the “bad guy” in these books are always tricky & I’m usually always wrong! 4 stars.
  5. Just Breaking the Rules by Lauren Blakely — this one was an ARC so the review is listed here! https://daniellepaschka.com/2026/01/21/just-breaking-the-rules-arc-review/
  6. Broken by Evelyn Miller — I got sucked into this book from an AD on Instagram I’m sorry to say. It was a quick read & I finished in an afternoon. If you like young-love, fast paced, semi shocking behaviors of characters or need a book to just escape.. I’d say this is a good one. 3 stars.
  7. Just for the Cameras by Meghan Quinn — this one was an ARC so the review is listed here! https://daniellepaschka.com/2026/02/03/just-for-the-cameras-arc-review/

Such a good month of reads & I’m so happy about them all! I can’t wait to read all the lovey books for love month & hope to make my way through my physical TBR! I hope you add some of these books to your TBR & you are having a good start to the year with your reading goal!
