Secret Haven ARC Review

Secret Haven by Catherine Cowles (Sparrow Falls #6)

The first time I met Kyler Blackwood, he was a bruised and battered boy with fire in his eyes and nowhere safe to land.

Since the first time he kissed me, he was my best-kept secret, my quiet rebellion, my haven in the storm.

But fate forced us apart, making us pretend to be strangers because it hurt too much to be anything else.

Years later, time hasn’t dulled what we felt, has never erased the way we fit. And when Kye’s past collides with my present, everything shifts.

It’s a choice neither of us expected.
A bond that never really broke.
A line we were never meant to cross.

We tell ourselves it’s only temporary, that the arrangement is just a means to an end. But with each passing day, the lie feels more like the truth. And with each stolen touch, Kye feels more like mine. Because some things were never meant to be pretend.

And some dangers are closer than we ever imagined…

Let’s get into it! So I’ve read all of the Sparrow Falls series & 1 other of Catherine’s books but to say I’m a fan is an understatement! I love the element of suspense in each of her books that mirror the same element of romance! So many times I have no idea who the “bad guy” is in the books so there is usually always a surprise!

I have been waiting for Kye & Fallon since I started the Sparrow Falls series. I knew their story had so much depth that we didn’t know & let me just say that Catherine grabs you right from the get go with the Prologue! I was immediately HOOKED. I couldn’t wait to read more & figure out how the story was going to go.

Catherine definitely had my crying, laughing & smiling! I loved the usual family dynamic of all the people we’ve met before in the previous books & just how the family steps up for everyone in their family no questions asked.

There was a big WOW moment right at the beginning of the book that I was not expecting AT ALL & I’m not going to say much because I want you to be surprised too but it definitely sets the tone of the book so it’s not just about Kye & Fallon.

I love seeing how Kye & Fallon became what they are today, how gentle Kye is with Fallon even though he is this big & tatted man with a rough exterior. The way that man just melts for Fallon is just SWOON. Same for Fallon as well.. just the fact that it’s always been Kye & I think we all know that.. just love them together so much.

Definitely read this book if you love small town romance, suspense, found family, funny family dynamics, yearning, “it’s always been you”, & so much more. I could go on forever.

I’m so sad to leave Sparrow Falls but so excited for Catherine’s next series! We have met the MMC for this new series so very curious to see how that all pans out!

Thank you Catherine & team for the ARC! This is available 10-21 everywhere!
