April was a great month of reads! Listened to a lot on walks & also read a lot which is always nice! I also got to see my favorite author again Meghan Quinn which was so fun as always! So there is where I rate the book 1-5 stars.. 5 being the best and 1 being not the best.
Let’s get into it…
- Finding Home by Jenn McMahon — I got an ARC for this so I have a whole other blog post about this one here … https://daniellepaschka.com/2025/04/07/finding-home-arc-review/ 4 stars.
- A Favor for a Favor by Helena Hunting (All In #2)— So I started this series because it was free to listen too and I needed to listen to something on my walks. A hockey romance series — you know I’m game! This one was my favorite of the series! I love the enemies to lovers & teammate’s sister trope — always so dang good. I loved Stevie (the FMC) — she was so sassy with Bishop & I loved that she didn’t back down from him. This book had me swooning & so excited to keep reading series! 5 stars.
- Bridesmaid by Chance by Meghan Quinn— Another ARC I received so I have a separate blog post for it here.. https://daniellepaschka.com/2025/04/12/bridesmaid-by-chance-arc-review/ 5 stars.
- A Secret for a Secret by Helena Hunting (All In #3)— Book 3 in this series & I really did enjoy it! There was a whole lot of curveballs in this book & honestly wanted a little more from the male main character Ryan when shit was hitting fan but it was still a really enjoyable book. This is coach’s daughter, golden retriever/bat cat vibes, one night stand tropes. All the books in the series still bring in the other characters from the book & I really liked that. I love the girl group that develops in all the stories. 4 stars.
- A Kiss for a Kiss by Helena Hunting (All In #4)— Final book in this series & I think it fell short if I’m being honest! It was all a little far fetched for me & made the series not end like I would have hoped. I usually love an accidental pregnancy trope but this one didn’t do it for me. It was too weird with the blended family. All in all— I will definitely be reading more from Helena Hunting.. I really enjoyed her writing! 3 stars.
- Merit by Devney Perry (Treasure State Wildcats #4) — UGHHH I LOVED this book. I didn’t think I could love a book more than the 3rd one in this series but here we are! This book focuses on Maverick & Stevie. They use to be best friends growing up until they weren’t.. now enemies. Well push comes to shove & they need to fake date for reasons you’ll find out in the book. At first they hate it but then they both allow eachother to open up & realize how much they actually missed eachother as friends & explore if their feelings are more than that… I loved reading why Maverick is the way he is ( we got to know him a lot in book 3 in not the best light). My heart broke several times in this book but I loved how it ended & I loved all the epilogues! So sad this series is done. 5 stars.
- The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose— OKAY. I loved the Perfect Marriage by Jeneva so I had high hopes for this one & well she delivered. I listened to this one & I loved the multiple narration on this audio. The voice of Sarah was ON POINT. Lots of twists and turns. I was suspect to a lot of different scenarios in the book & guessed a couple but not all of them so I really liked to be surprised. I think this is a must read or listen if you liked the Perfect Marriage! Jeneva has said she isn’t done with Sarah Morgan so I can’t wait to see what happens next. 4.5 stars.
- Wild Side by Elsie Silver (Rose Hill #3) — This probably was my favorite of the series so far— I have a feeling the next one is going to be top for me. There was a few things for me that didn’t give me the full 5 stars but I can’t go into full detail without spoiling. I loved Tabby & Rhys— their characters were really great. I loved how Rhys has this super tough exterior but he is the absolute sweetest on the inside. My heart hurt for Tabby so much during the book so I was glad she finally found her happy. I needed more about Milo but that was my own preference. This series isn’t my favorite from Elsie unlike her Chestnut Springs series & I know I’ll be criticized for that haha! 4 stars.
A good month of reading! Hoping for lots in May even though we are so busy! Let me know what you are reading & as always follow me on IG & GoodReads to see what I’m reading currently!
