Whew.
September was rough! We had a whole lot going on but I managed to squeeze 7 reads in! I’ll call that a win! A lot of ARCs which was kind of wild! Seems like when I have one I have three following close behind & I always want to get them read before they come out so I have to get moving on them!
I rate each book on stars. 5 being the best & 1 being the lowest! If I have an ARC that I read in the month I have a review on the website already posted most likely! Let’s get into it..
- The Summer I First Saw You by Elizabeth O’Roark — If I could give this book 6 stars I would! Love an age gap, forbidden romance. This one delivered with both of those! Some people get creeped out about age gaps but unless its a 40+ age gap I’m not discriminating. Daisy was so fun, sassy & a people pleaser. I felt a lot like her in her schooling aspect because I went through something similar. Harrison was so grumpy, depressed & needing to find himself again. Daisy is trying to bring him back to life after his divorce & I am here for it all. Can Harrison let go of what everyone thinks & just go with his heart?! There is so many OMG moments in this book that I couldn’t stop reading! I read in a day & I was so dang obsessed! Infinity stars.
2. Force Play by Lo Everett — This was an ARC so I have a whole blog post committed to that— here it is https://daniellepaschka.com/2024/09/09/force-play-arc-review/
3. The Longshot by Kate Lauren — This was an ARC so I have a whole blog post committed to that— here it is https://daniellepaschka.com/2024/09/15/the-longshot-arc-review/
4. Don’t Tell Me Twice by Dani Ryan — This was an ARC as well .. I’ve never read anything by this author but it was super sweet of her to reach out and want me to read this. It’s not my typical romance book I would want to read but it was cute! If you like a no spice, closed door romance then this is for you! I think a lot of it was very rushed & unbelievable but I suppose that’s what happens in books— you want the escape! 3.5 stars.
5. The Playbook by Erin MacKenzie — This was an ARC so I have a whole blog post committed to that— here it is https://daniellepaschka.com/2024/09/18/the-playbook-arc-review/
6. Wild Eyes by Elsie Silver — It was so fun to be back in Rose Hill after I was very much waiting for West’s book! He was one of my absolute favorite in Wild Love. Also.. don’t come at me but Wild Love wasn’t my favorite Elsie book. There was a lot going on in it that didn’t make sense to me— a lot of elements in books have to make sense & be somewhat realistic or I don’t mesh well with it. I wish I loved it like other people did but it just wasn’t in the cards. Moving on.. West is now neck and neck with Theo (my favorite MMC of Elsies). He was a dreamboat! So loving, patient, the best dad, & seriously so good with Skylar! I loved how he was with his kids— and gosh his sweet kids. I can’t even handle it. They were so fun to get to know & seeing them interact with Skylar was also really great! Skylar is running away from her life basically— she needs an escape so Rose Hill is where its at. She is a singer & knows Rose Hill from Ford (Wild Love) so she ends up staying in West’s cabin on his property which is next to Ford’s recording studio! Obviously tensions run high from the get go after the first chapter with West & Skylar when they first meet since it’s a less than normal way to meet! I loved how they met & that initial trust that was formed! Obviously you need to read it to find out more! All it in all it was really good! I loved it so much more than Wild Love & I honestly can’t wait for the next book because it’s definitely enemies to lovers and that’s forever a fave! 4 stars.
7. When You Give A Lawyer a Kiss by Ann Einerson — This was an ARC so I have a whole post committed to that — here it is https://daniellepaschka.com/2024/10/06/when-you-give-a-lawyer-a-kiss-arc-review/
