August Book Round Up

I got 10 books read in this month & I was pretty proud of myself! I kept saying I wanted to get 10 read for months & I did it. I thank the California trip with no kids & the car line for the help with getting this many books read! Hoping for another big month of reading since I have a few ARCs I need to get done & a few new releases that are calling my name!

I rate each book on stars. 5 being the best & 1 being the lowest! If I have an ARC that I read in the month I have a review on the website already posted! Let’s get into it..

1-4. The Calamity Mountain Series by Devney Perry– I over all really loved this series. It’s always so fun to start a new series by Devney. There is always some level of suspense or mystery & all the romance. I love how they are all in Montana & I love how they are all interconnected. Nothing I love more than reading a book about one person with multiple side characters then getting to read about them in the next book! It helps me look for clues in the book & keeps me excited for what is to come! 4-5 stars for all of them!

5. Bridesmaid Undercover by Meghan Quinn– This was an ARC read and god bless America did she deliver with this one! I can’t even tell you how much I freaking loved this book & I CANNOT wait for the next one in this series! Read more of what I thought here…. https://daniellepaschka.com/2024/08/12/bridesmaid-undercover-arc-review/ Infinity stars.

6. The Boyfriend Goal by Lauren Blakely– This was my first book by Lauren Blakely & it did not disappoint! This was an ARC I had & I’m so grateful I got it — crossing my fingers & toes that I get the next ARC for book #2 coming soon because I can’t wait to see where that takes us in the story! Read more of what I thought here…. https://daniellepaschka.com/2024/08/21/the-boyfriend-goal-arc-review/ 4.5 stars.

7. Rally by Devney Perry– This is the 3rd book in the series & it delivered! I love the accidental pregnancy trope & Devney does it so well! Some of her books with that are my favorite! All the details with this book were so good. I loved getting to know Rush more after hearing about him the last 2 books. This one delivered so much & I can’t wait for the 4th book to come out soon so we get Maverick’s story! 5 stars

8. The Summer You Found Me by Elizabeth O’Roark– This was such a unique book. I feel like we don’t read a lot of books like this & it was so good. Kate is out of rehab and needs somewhere to stay since her husband no longer wants their marriage & has moved on. It takes a long time for Kate to move on but when she finally does its definitely something & I LOVED her & Beck’s relationship when we got to see it. Beck has been in love with Kate since he first laid eyes on her & the issue is that Kate’s ex husband is one of Beck’s best friends. But the entire friend group sees it and isn’t shocked by the development that takes place. Can Kate let go of her past & move on with Beck—seeing that he is the one who is for her & has been from the beginning??? 5 stars.

9. The Summer I Destroyed You by Elizabeth O’Roark– I loved Liam & Emmy’s story! I have a lot of body issues like Emmy so I related to her a lot.. my high school stories weren’t as intense and awful as mine but I definitely have some… I always love a book more when I can relate to it from real life experiences. I love that Liam & Emmy’s story started via text messages & not face to face. I love that they both liked each other without even seeing each other for months. Their story was really great & I loved that Liam kept pursuing Emmy no matter what she said.. He didn’t care. He wanted her & he knew he would get her. 4 stars.

10. Bad Mother by Mia Sheridan-This was a good switch up from my usual solid romance books. Mia delivered with suspense, thriller, & light romance! I truly was so into this story & everything that was happening. There was a lot of twists and turns. I really kind of caught on to what was going to happen towards the end but it didn’t stop me from really enjoying the book! A good switch up if you need to let your brain think! 4 stars.

Whew! What a good month of reading, a good month of ARCS and releases & I can’t wait for the same in September! As always I share my books etc on my IG & on my GoodReads account! Make sure to connect with me there!

Happy Reading!
