Whewwww. I didn’t get as many books as I wanted to get done as I wanted to but it was a busy freaking month so I’m proud of what I did get done! Hoping to really make up for it in June! I always rate books on 1 to 5 stars. 1 being not great, 5 being amazing! Let’s get into it. Let’s get into it..
- The Risk, Sidetracked, Scarlet Angel, Paint it All Red, All the Lies ( Mindf*ck series) by S.T. Abby — This entire series was exactly what the title says… a mindf*ck! I can’t even tell you how much I loved it.. the suspense, the storyline, the characters, the wtf moments, the spice, all of it.. was wild. Make sure to read your trigger warnings since there is for sure some crazy things that happen in there! Also.. don’t judge these books by their cover— the covers def are nothing close to how the book is I would say. 4 stars for Book 1, 5 stars for the other 4 books.
- Funny Story by Emily Henry — Alright.. I went into this really nervous. I did not enjoy Happy Place as much as I thought I would (don’t come for me). So I was nervous about this one.. I was hoping it would be love like some of the other Emily Henry ones were for me. I LOVED Funny Story. I related to the FMC family life so damn much. We had so much similarities with our relationships with our parents. I’m not sure if that was why I related so much or what it was.. but goodness gracious I felt it in my bones.
I loved the banter, the flirting, the heartbreak. It was all so dang good. I loved Miles. He was so carefree, so fun, & all I wanted to do was hug him when he was suffering from his inner childhood battles.Emily redeemed herself for me with this one & I can’t wait for another one by her! Read this book if you like: Fake dating, small town, roommates, forced proximity, & more. 5 stars. - The Ex Vows by Jessica Joyce — What a book! Thank you so much NetGalley for sending me this ARC. This was my first book I’ve read by Jessica & goodness gracious give me all the books she writes now please! The details, the freaking heart wrenching moments, the flirting, the friend group, the flashbacks! This second chance romance was done so, so good. I’m such a sucker for second chance romance & Jessica did it so good! Eli & Georgia’s story is so real & so many emotions.. I felt it through the pages. Georgia is such a list person, doesn’t like telling people what is wrong without being prodded for a long time which is SO much like me so it was really easy for me to relate to her! Eli & the paper rings.. I can’t even handle it. SWOON.
All in all please read this when it comes available & add it to your TBR immediately!
Read if you like- Friends to Lovers, Second Chance Romance, Forced Proximity, Banter, Mental Illness Rep, Found Family, Single POV. 5 stars. - The Play (Briar U #3) by Elle Kennedy— I am so mad at myself for waiting so long to read this series— I wish I would of just read it after the off-campus series! This book picks up right after book 2 & it is Hunter’s story. We know Hunter as a big player & “costing” them the big playoff game in book 2 because he slept with the other teams player girlfriend which resulted in a fight. Hunter decides to be celibate & that leads to a lot of temptations but he is stands true to his word most of the book. Insert Demi — a guys girl & someone who can hold her own. She has a boyfriend (who I couldn’t stand from the get go) & becomes friends with Hunter because of a class project. Do the friendship lines blur?! I freaking loved their friendship, the flirting, her & him “busting each others balls”, it was so funny & fun! I just started the 4th and final book of the series & I can’t wait to see how it all wraps up! 5 stars.
That was all the May books! I had about 5000 things happening so I’m so glad I got some really great reads in! I’m ready for June & all the fun books coming out!
Xo, Dani
