April Book Round Up

April was so busy! I had a couple ARCs & read a total of 8 books. I really have to get 10-12 done this month & it’s gonna be hard but I am determined! Couple 5 star books & a couple that left me disappointed but you will have that! I rate the books from 1-5 stars — 1 being least liked & 5 being best. Let’s get into it….

1.Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey— OKAYYYYY. Everyone knows I love me some Tessa Bailey! I’m forever obsessed with Fox from Hook, Line & Sinker but Wells from this book is very, very close to him now!

Goodness gracious! It was funny, the flirting was so good, & it was just a fun + refreshing read! My first golf romance— not a golf fan but definitely would be now if Wells was a real player LOL!

Josephine was seriously hilarious & I love how determined she was! She literally put her life on the line just to prove that she could do things on her own & her own time! The nickname, the side characters, the spice.. it was just all so good! A must read for sure!

I can’t wait for book 2 in this series coming in a couple months! 5 stars.

2.Where’s Molly by HD Carlton

If you liked Haunting & Hunting Adeline I definitely think you need to read this. It was good to read about Molly’s story & what happened to her. In Hunting she plays a role in Adelines life in the house and even after. It was just good to read so many things come in full circle.

Still dark — but not as dark as Haunting or Hunting. 4 stars.

3.Learn Your Lesson by Kandi Steiner — I wrote an entire blog post about it since it was an ARC head a few posts back to see! 5 stars. & I am still thinking about it.

4.Wild Love by Elsie Silver

I want to start out saying I am a HUGE Elsie fan.. love following her on IG, loved/obsessed with The Chestnut Springs series, all the things. I was so excited for this book like SO excited…

This book did not do it for me.

I liked Rosie & Ford but I didn’t love how the story went. When I read a romance book (not fantasy) things need to flow, be somewhat believable. Some of the things here just didn’t make it believable or make sense in my mind.

The fact it was a billionaire romance but we never actually see what he does besides just throwing money around at Rosie & comments about how much $$ he has. The entire storyline with Cora just was so unbelievable & honestly didnt need to be in the book. Again I know its a book but stuff like that doesn’t just happen right??! It was a bit much

I did enjoy their banter & the family dynamic in the book. I love that we got to see Willa again who is in Heartless. I am really looking forward to Wes’s book (who we met in the book & is Rosie’s brother who is an actual dad in this dad series) because he seems fun & wild & I just liked his vibe in this book!

I hate putting down this book when I was looking so forward to it but I want to be honest & not just hype up a book because it was by a favorite author. 3 stars.

5.The Chase (Briar U #1) by Elle Kennedy

I’m the biggest Elle Kennedy fan! I’m almost sad I haven’t read this Briar U series because I just fall in love with every book she writes!

This was book 1 of the series. Summer (who is Dean’s little sister — Dean is in the Off-Campus series) & Colin (Fitzy) are the characters. Summer has wanted him since she’s laid eyes on him & she isn’t shy about it. She’s outspoken, knows what she wants, smart, & hardworking. She’s not the type of girl to chase after a man and Fitz is very much standoffish towards Summer even though he is dying to be with her, he just doesn’t think it will work out in the end.

I loved their chemistry, the banter & teasing. Honestly such a good one. I always fly through her books & this was no exception! 4 stars.

6.The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams— I listened to this.. It was not my favorite because all of this could of been a very short book if they would of just communicated to each other! I get not wanting to ruin your friendship but when literally everyone and their mother is telling you that you both like each other maybe listen & give it a go!? It was cute. Some parts were funny. Light, hallmarky movie vibes. No spice whatsoever so anyone he said there was… is incorrect lol. 3 stars.

7.The Risk (Briar U #2) by Elle Kennedy— Omg I LOVED this one. I loved Jake & Brenna so much! Jake is a babe. I love their relationship (fake & real) so much. I love that Brenna is a baddie & can hold her own. She knows hockey & how to hang with the boys.

I love when a girl can totally change a boys ways like Brenna did with Jake! I love a coach’s daughter trope — it’s done so well here. We get both sides of both their stories & how they were raised. I just loved it.. couldn’t get enough of them! Excited for the final 2 books in this series! 5 stars.

8.Calling it Safe by Lo Everett— I did a whole review on this as well since it was an ARC. It is on the last blog post I posted before this! 4.5 stars.

Stay tuned for my May reads & hope that I get my 10-12 books done even though that seems impossible with the schedule I have but I’m gonna try my hardest! As always follow me on IG or Goodreads to always see what I’m reading!

Xo, Dani
