Calling It Safe by Lo Everett (Denver Bandits Baseball #3)

This picks up right where book #2 finished. Main female character Mia is sister to Hendrix who we meet in book 1. Main male character Dean is teammate/friend to Hendrix & Cruz (males in book 1 &2). I love a book where there is several characters & then we get to meet them in the following books & go on the journeys with them!

Dean is grumpy, moody, standoffish & full of rage it feels like by the way he acts & is towards Mia at the beginning of the book. He is a professional baseball player. Dean holds in a lot of demons from a lot of past family drama— which we find out & honestly can’t say I blame him. Enter Mia & Dean immediately feels a pull towards her but tries to convince himself he doesn’t deserve her or even should get to know her because he is her brothers friend/teammate & because of his past trauma.

Mia is a well known author, independent & the sweetest. She can hold her own & sees the best in almost anyone. She feels the looks & pull from Dean but steers clear because of his moodiness & him being so standoffish. She is overworked to the bone & almost at her breaking point when she decides that she needs an escape for the winter.

Dean has a cabin in the mountains where he stays in the off season of baseball. The cabin has an extra bedroom. Hendrix asks Dean to consider having Mia stay with him when her other option doesn’t end up working out. Mia is hesitant & so is Dean but they do it & boy does it work out…

This book is full of angst, love, spice, & heartbreak. I gave me all the feels & I honestly couldn’t get enough. I loved both characters separately & together. The character growth in Dean was so good— I loved his family also that we got to know in the book. Him with his nieces… SWOON. Mia is a babe & such a girls girl. Love watching her choose herself so much in this book.

This was my favorite book of the series & I can’t wait for the next book! This is out TODAY! Head to amazon now to grab it on kindle unlimited or order it in paperback! 4.5 stars
