Books I Read in February

Hi friends!

Can’t believe February is wrapping up! I read & actually listened to a lot of books this month which was kind of big for me! The ones I listened to were part of a 6 part “meet cute” series & they were kind of on the smaller side but oh well— a book is a book right?!

Let’s dive into it! I rate the books 1-5 stars — as I’ve read more and more books I am a lot harder of a critic than when I first started this reading journey.

1-6. The Meet Cute series by Christina Lauren, Abby Jimenez, Sally Thorne, Jasmine Guillory, Ashley Poston, Sariah Wilson– I really enjoyed these especially with how much of a valentines fan I am. They were super cute & some super cheesy but what else do you expect with a rom-com? I loved the Christina Lauren & Abby Jimenez ones. They were the ones that I wish would have been actual books! A lot of these I listened to & I will say that the peoples voices on audio for sure make or break the experience for you. Stars ranged from 3-5 stars.

7. Stone Princess (Clifton Forge Series) by Devney Perry – I’ve read so many of Devney’s books but this series might be one of my new favorites of hers & that’s saying A LOT since I was obsessed (still actually) with the Eden series! AHH I loved it so much. I loved hearing about Presley’s story after getting to know her the last 2 books. I loved Shaw, I loved how patient he was with Presley— how kind & wouldn’t take no for an answer! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! If you like mystery, suspense & romance together— this series is one for you! 5 stars.

8. The Reason I Married Him by Meghan freaking Quinn – I am obsessed with so man of her books but this one might be on top! I loved The Way I Hate Him last year so much so I was SO excited for this one. It exceeded my expectations. I loved the MMC (male main character) Wyatt.. he was funny, cute, swoony, & the freaking sweetest. I loved how he was with Aubree. She is a tough cookie & hard to break & Wyatt never gives up! FMC (female main character) Aubree is so strong, closed off & not warm. She’s been through so much & I love watching her come back to life it seems in this book after the hell she’s been through! Meghan’s books always make me laugh out loud, swoon & fall in love with her characters so hard. The entire family is seriously so good. I love the dynamic. I love all the details Meghan always gives— nothing is usually rushed which I love. A must read! 5++++ stars.

9. Icebound by Meredith Trapp – I wrote a whole blog post about this one since I was lucky enough to get an ARC (advanced reader copy) so go check that out! 4.75 stars.

10. Haunting Adeline (Cat & Mouse #1) by H.D. Carlton – Alright.. I’ve seen everyone and their mother talk about this book. I got n the train & read it. I liked it, obviously wanted to see ow it ended, etc. BUT I honestly didn’t know that it was a part 1, part 2 type of book. It ended on a cliffhanger & I wanted to rage but I immediately jumped into the 2nd. I didn’t think the spice was all that spicing compared to other that I’ve read? I mean it was there, and a lot but I think it was just more aggressive than anything. These books are not for the faint of heart at all & so many triggers. 3 stars.

11. Hunting Adeline (Cat & Mouse #2) by H.D. Carlton – This book. So many emotions. It is absolutely NOT for the faint of heart. Lots of triggers. It was heartbreaking at times but also so thrilling. There was so much happening & just a huge roller coaster ride from start to finish. I have listened to SO many podcasts that are true crime related so it’s slightly hard to shock me wen it comes to books like these since I know this stuff really does happen in real life. I gave it 5 stars because of how many twists, turns, & basically not like any other book I’ve ever read! I for sure am a Zade Meadows fan after all of this though & might be a dark romance girly after all…. 5 stars.

It was a good month of good reads & I’m ready for more in March! So many good ones being released & I have another ARC that is coming to my inbox this weekend! I can’t wait!

I’m almost half way through a book right now and I will probably finish it today but didn’t want to jump the gun & add it the list since I wasn’t completely done with it. So will add it to the March round up!

Thanks for following along & I will see you back here soon!

Xo, Dani
