I am so happy that I was asked back to Hello Iowa last week! Megan asked me back to talk about my reading journey I started in August 2022! I honestly could have talked to her all afternoon about it. It was so fun & definitely can’t wait to go back again soon!
I read 108 books in 2023 & it honestly didn’t feel like enough— there is just so many good books out there & so many authors that continue to publish more & more. I can’t get enough! My TBR (to be read) pile is forever growing & growing!
I’m definitely more of a romance book girlie but also love suspense/thrillers. It’s been so fun seeing where books can take me & help me shut off my brain from everyday stresses!
The whole reading journey started more for my girls— Aria struggled with reading when she was in 1st grade but got the help she needed which I’m forever thankful for her teachers + school programs for that! Even though she was thriving at school, she still never wanted to read at home— so then I thought, oh maybe if I start reading then maybe she will see how much fun it is & it’s something she can enjoy instead of dread.
Well it worked out because now she loves it & I never have to beg her to read at home! SO proud of her & Stella for both loving it. Love watching them grab a book to sit & read and enjoy it. Eventually as years go on, we will have our own little book club!
