A Life Recap

Hello friends!

The last time I typed one of these it was just after Thanksgiving.. I thought a lot had happened during that update but boy was I wrong.. the last few weeks have been insane! They say everything happens in 3’s right?! I hope I’m done with my string of iffy luck! Let’s dive into it!

THE FOOT:

So I was asking for all the prayers and positive vibes hoping I wouldn’t need surgery for my broken foot but I did in deed need surgery. It was going to cause more damage down the road if I didn’t so I went ahead with it. I am now the proud new owner of 3 screws in my right foot! Everything recovery wise has been really good— I have had ZERO pain since surgery. I was non-weight bearing for the first 2.5 weeks post surgery so I was doing the knee scooter life! I got my stitches out this past Friday.. & can now go short distances without the scooter but long distances with the scooter.

I go back on the 29th for another X-ray to make sure things are still going well— praying so hard that I can be boot free & hopefully back to normal after that appt. I miss my everyday routine before this all happened. I am so happy that I got some of my freedom back the last week but I’m being a good patient so that I don’t set myself back any. Slow & steady wins the race!

JURY DUTY:

Of course I got summoned for jury duty for December. This is my 2nd time I’ve gotten summoned for jury duty & the first time I hated it so much HAHA. My number got called last time & my number got called this time. I tried to get out of it right when I got the postcard in the mail but being your children’s only ride to and from school plus only childcare during winter break is not an excuse so don’t try it.

When I found out that I was going to have surgery I called 4 times & left messages. Since I couldn’t drive plus was on a scooter for 2 weeks. FINALLY heard back from them & am getting redrawn for July… why my dang number gets called every type I’ve been summoned is beyond me but I am over it. LOL Please jury duty people pick someone who actually wants to go!

VAN PROBLEMS:

Of course when all the chaos of jury duty, surgery, & everything else in life.. My van decided to stop working! The batteries (yes I have 2 in my van) in the van are slightly annoying & this has happened before. The fact that it happened at the worst time.. I’m not really surprised because when is the right time for your car to be out of commission?! Luckily I wasn’t driving much anyway with my surgery & friends/family were helping with rides for the girls, etc. I got the car back early last week so I’m very grateful all is well & we are back in business!

I’m really hoping that I am done with any and all stressors of my life for a little bit & the start of 2024 will be boot free! We have lots of fun things happening this week & the rest of the year! I can’t wait to update you all on something really exciting coming on Wednesday! Stay tuned! 🙂

As always, thanks for being here!
