You guyssss! Happy August! There was so many good books read in July! I wanted to get a few more in before the end of the month but there is always this month! I’m going to be giving my feelings on each book then rate it with stars. 1 being worst, 5 being best. Let’s dive into it…
Here is what I read..
- Royally in Trouble by Meghan Quinn — this was book #2 of a previous book (Royally not Ready) & I don’t think there will be anymore to this series and it breaks my heart. I LOVE Meghan Quinn books. She just writes them so, so good. They are funny, spicy, & just good stories. I have yet to find one I don’t love. I also have slide into her DMs and she responds back which I freaking love. This book along with the 1st are a must read & always fast reads! 5 stars.
2. When in Rome by Sarah Adams — this was my first Sarah Adams book & I really enjoyed it. I have 2 more on deck to read of hers. I see her books all over IG so I decided to give them a go! It was a super cute book & I loved the story. Definitely not spicy like others I’ve read but a great feel good romance. 4 stars.
3. Unfortunately Yours by Tessa Bailey — this was book #2 of a previous book (Secretly Yours). You guys — I LOVE Tessa Bailey books. She made me fall in love more with reading last fall when I read “It happened one summer” & “Hook, line & sinker” — I still to this day fully obsessed with the characters in H,L& S. Fox is one of my favorite book men & August in Unfortunately Yours is a close second. SWOON is all I can say. I loved the banter in this book so much. It was super spicy which you know I love. & just a fast read for me. Tessa Bailey can do no wrong at this point for m. 5 stars.
4. Wait for Me by Tia Louise — this was a book I read by mistake on my Kindle LOL I thought I was starting another one but here we are. It was a fast read, spicy & semi predictable. There was one part that literally broke my heart but other than that I enjoyed it. 4 stars.
5. The Summer We Fell by Elizabeth O’Roark — my girlfriend Caroline told me to read this immediately (we share the same brain when it comes to books) so I did. I’ve never read a book like this before. I was sucked in. I didn’t know what was going to happen next. Things I wanted to happen didn’t but it kept turning around for the better. It was SO good. I was still thinking about it days after. A summer must read. 5 stars.
6. Reckless by Elsie Silver — OMG. If I ever recommend a series it will be this one. Goodness gracious. This was book 4 of the series and my absolute favorite. I loved these characters so, so much. I love that every book in this series has the previous main characters from the other book coming around still. It’s just so good. Theo (MMC) is just so good, love him & he is just all the things. I highly suggest reading the whole series immediately in time for the 5th and final book this fall! 5 stars.
7. The Bodyguard by Katherine Center — This was my first book by this author. It was cute. I had a hard time picturing what the girl looked like — she annoyed me at parts. There were parts I didn’t think needed to be in the book & I wanted more detail on some. I have another book by the author on hold at the library so I am curious to see how I will like that one. 3 stars.
8. Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune — I loved this one. I loved the characters, the timelines, & just the romance in it. Carley wrote one of my favorite books last year (Every Summer After) and this one definitely stands up there with it. It was such a good summer read & I didn’t want to put it down. I can’t wait for more Carley Fortune books! 4.5 stars.
Whew! So many good ones. I can’t wait to see what the books I have in my TBR bring in August. I have a couple trips where I’ll be able to dive in a lot & I’m looking forward to it! August 6th marks ONE year of starting my reading journey & I just can’t believe how many books I’ve read since then.. Tell me what you are reading below!
